Coach Adam - Man of the Match Performance

If you didn't already know...Coach Adam is pretty good at soccer!

Last weekend, Sunday 18th September, Adam played his first competitive game for the Houston Dutch Lions FC in the Houston Football Association league. The team currently plays in Divison 1A and faced Sampdoria in their first game of the season.

Adam had started the season well with 7 goals in 2 friendly games, including 3 against Sampdoria, so he was looking to stay sharp and amongst the goals on his debut.

Another thing you may not know is that Coach Adam has scored a hat-trick on 5 of his debuts and this past weekend he made it 6!

Not only did Adam bag himself a hat-trick but he also took home Man of the Match as well in a convincing 5-1 victory over Sampdoria. Game Report (Scroll to the bottom)

We hope that he continues his progress for the Houston Dutch Lions FC as he looks to take his soccer further and his training with Britannia.

Coach Stephen - You did well...maybe next time

Coach Stephen plays for University SC who play in the Houston Football Association league in Division 2A. This past weekend they fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Saengerbund Kickers.

Stephen played the majority of the game as Centre Back and looked like a young John Terry in the first half. Commanding the back line, vocal and physical in his play. Unfortunately for Stephen, the blistering heat and rust in his boots lead him to turn from John Terry to Phil Jones and was to blame for the 2nd goal.

Not to be too hard on himself, he ended up taking the following days analysing his performance and realising he needs to get his head in the game. Fortunately for Stephen, they still have plenty of games left for him to emulator the success of his younger brother.

Stephen did, however, make amends on his display in his game on Monday night for the Stingrays in the Houston Women's Soccer Association Monday Night Coed league.

Battling through the pain of Sunday's game, he came up with a crucial goal in a 4-3 victory against Die Mannschaft as well as running around like a headless chicken.

Next weekend sees Adam face a tough opposition, as Stephen gets his mind and body ready for 3 games in 3 days...😳

Until next time...
