Coach Adam - Eye on the Prize
Before we start...if you haven't seen Coach Adams Goal from last weekend go and watch it first...it's an outstanding finish and you will thank me later.
Anyway...As you may have guessed or you haven't been reading these articles, Adam scored yet again this weekend for the Houston Dutch Lions and now finds himself with 6 Goals in 4 Games.
This weekend the Houston Dutch Lions took on Houston Brew in their HFA Division 1A match, with the Lions looking to continue their impressive undefeated run.
The Dutch Lions started the game positively and made good use of possession with a number of chances before they took the lead. Midway through the first half, they took the lead with an impressive strike from distance that found the bottom corner as well as finding the goalkeeper a little red-faced when he shouted "That's wide" as he turned to pick it out of the goal.
Adam was then involved in the second goal with what some people may call a "Lucky" assist. After the ball was sent into the box from the right, Adam managed to get the most delightful touch onto the ball to loop it over the outstretched hand of the keeper and glance the crossbar before falling to a teammate to slot home.
After multiple saved efforts, Adam managed to get amongst the goals with a nice effort from the edge of the area to continue his goalscoring tally. It would have been caught on film but someone (Coach Adam) forgot to charge his Camera Battery and it died.
The Lions finished comfortable 4-0 winners and now face Cypress United on Saturday at 8:00am.
Coach Stephen - You should know better
It is safe to say that Coach Stephen found himself disappointed and injured when he really should have known better.
After sitting out last weekend's University SC match to focus on recovering from a quad injury, Stephen has wrapped, taped, welded, and glued his quad ready for the game...and it made no difference.
Stephen was to blame for the first two goals in the 3-1 loss to Houston Viet FC.
Picking the ball up from the back, Stephen attempted to make a killer pass but was met with pain in his quad and played the ball straight to the winger who didn't hesitate to take advantage of the utter rubbishness of Coach Stephen.
Stephen's game was over after 30 minutes and it looks like it will be for some time as he now finds himself back in the treatment room. As the title states, he should know better not to push himself when he is carrying an injury.
Until next time...Enjoy!
