Coach Adam - It's not over till the final whistle

Adam managed to take his goal scoring streak to 7 goals in 5 games last weekend, and he was made to wait until the final minutes of this weekend's game against United Select to make it 8 goals in 6 matches.

The Houston Dutch Lions found themselves in a very tough game against United Select and could not find their rhythm for much of the first half. They did, however, manage to take the lead after a brief period of pressure but it wasn't long before they were back level after giving away a penalty and finishing the first half 1-1.

In the second half, the game was an end to end affair, with both teams trying to find that elusive winner. The Houston Dutch Lions just couldn't find their mojo and seemed to be forcing the ball a lot, and for Adam, it just didn't seem to work until 3 minutes from full time.

Player/Manager Leroy Zuiddam came on with 10 minutes to go and managed to show the boys how you play as a super sub with his excellent goal.

The goal came out of no where after some quick build-up play, the ball dropped to Coach Adam who took one touch and crossed the ball perfectly to the feet of Leroy who slotted home with the first time finish to make it 2-1 and celebrated in style as it was a belated birthday present. (Apologise from Coach Stephen as he was supposed to be filming but was so amazed at the accuracy and precision of the cross from Adam that he forgot to film 😔 )

With the game nearly finished Adam managed to keep his goal streak alive after the Dutch Lions quick counter attack led to Adam receiving the ball in the area with no defenders near him and slotting home to make it 3-1 with the last kick of the game. Coach Adam mentioned after the game that "It's great to have teammates that will pass the ball when your in space, even though they could have gone for the shot. If I didn't have them on my team I would not be on this streak"

This game was the very meaning of "it's not over till the final whistle" because before the 2 late goals this game could have gone either way and the score line tells you otherwise.

Coach Stephen - Needs to get lessons about filming

Coach Stephen was spending his last weekend on the sideline due to his quad injury and found himself behind the camera again for Coach Adam's game.

Before his filming started Stephen watched the closing minutes of the University SC game against Forza EFC in which they ran out 3-3 in what sounded like a win that slipped through our fingers.

Stephen then turned to becoming Camera man but he still needs lots of work (missing important goals is not good)

Coach Stephen's Monday night HWSA Stingrays ran out 13-2 winners against Balls and Dolls II.

Next weekend sees Coach Adam and the Houston Dutch Lions face their toughest game of the season when they take on 1st place Real MC United. 1st vs 2nd will make for an interesting game.

Coach Stephen will return to action for University SC when they take on Kallon Islanders Junior FC and hope to bring back winning ways.
